Air

Montréal-Trudeau International Airport (YUL) is one of Canada’s most important transportation centers. It is located a short ride – typically 20 minutes – west of downtown Montréal. The airport is named in honour of Pierre Elliott Trudeau, the 15th Prime Minister of Canada.


Car

Many major car rental companies have desks at YUL. Montreal is no different than any other major city when it comes to driving signage, except for one key thing: they are all in French.  It pays to know a few rudimentary keywords:

Sortie - Exit
Rue – Street
Pont - Bridge
Route barrée – Road closed
Centre-ville – Downtown.


Taxi/Uber

For taxi services speak with the dispatcher at Door 23, on the arrivals level. Uber is available at Door 8, on the Departures level and Door 21 on the arrivals level.


BIXI

Grab a BIXI bike, Montreal’s bike-sharing system. Montreal is a biker’s paradise with nearly 1000 km of pathways around the island, including marked street lanes. 

Getting around the city on a day-to-day basis is hassle-free. Its streets, vast parks, underground pedestrian network, and métro system are safe and easy to navigate.
