  • Why is the show going virtual?

    While closely monitoring the COVID-19 situation and the provincial government regulations around large gatherings and stated reopening plans, it is clear that an in person CPMA Convention and Trade Show will not be able to take place in 2021. The CPMA Convention and Trade Show continues to be the only national event that showcases and connects produce companies building their business in the Canadian marketplace. While we cannot do so this year in person, we wanted to make sure that we were still able to meet this need virtually.

  • When will the event take place?

    The Fresh Week platform will be available from April 12-16, 2021 with live sessions beginning Tuesday April 13 and provide streams of education and networking, attend the entire event of target areas of interest.

  • What are the benefits of a virtual event?

    Without the usual costs and travel commitment, the show becomes more accessible and provides a unique opportunity for more participation in the event, especially from the global market. The enhanced offerings associated with a virtual event means a more customizable experience for you to make sure you can select the content and connections that are most important.

  • What are the benefits of CPMA’s Fresh Week? What sets it apart from other virtual events?

    A successful virtual experience isn’t about moving the physical event online. It’s an entirely reimagined experience.  Nothing will ever replace the power of a face-to-face meeting or a handshake but for now we can create fun, unique, and innovative ways to bring people together. While our audience is both domestic and global, this year’s virtual events allow more people to attend than ever. CPMA brings the world to Canada with the largest produce show in the Canadian industry.

  • What can we expect at the virtual event?

    The virtual environment will provide you with and a la carte format allowing you to connect with the education, new ideas and products, and connections that you need for your business. If used correctly, the virtual show will be a valuable extension to your business planning.

  • What benefits are there from the date change?

    Moving the dates to post-Easter will allow greater participation from the retail buying community. In addition, Fresh Week participants will have a few extra weeks to plan their connection space and online activations.

  • How much will it cost to attend?

    Attendance is free for everyone. CPMA members will have access to exclusive member-only content throughout the week.

  • How much will it cost to exhibit? What sponsorship opportunities are available?

    There will be a number of options available for companies to showcase their products and reach their goals. A basic virtual connection space package starts at $3000, with upgraded options available for expanded features and customization. Sponsorship opportunities are available. Exhibitor FAQ

  • I have already purchased a booth for the physical show. What are the next steps?

    A member of the CPMA team will be reaching out over the coming weeks to answer your questions about the show and review your options for your presence at the show to find a fit that meets your needs.

  • What will the virtual experience look like?

    There will be a number of ways you can personalize your presence at the show. From uploading images, new product information and videos, customized backgrounds and sidebar images, there are countless way to get noticed.  With the built in meeting scheduling tool and video or live chat meetings, you can interact with ease. If you can use LinkedIn then you will be a great success at our virtual event.

  • Will there still be a New Product Showcase?

    Yes, the new product showcase will still be one of the best ways to get your new product noticed. Your product will be highlighted by category and will also link directly to your connection space. We will continue to have winners for each category and all products will be featured in a post-event mailer sent to retailers across Canada.

  • I am no longer financially able to participate in the show. Will I get a refund?

    A member of the CPMA team will be in touch to discuss your options. Refunds will be offered at 80% of all fees paid.

This information is provided as part of CPMA s ongoing commitment to legal and ethical behavior including, in this specific instance, compliance with Canadian competition law.

CPMA has taken measures to ensure that formal meetings do not involve anti-competitive conduct or the appearance of anti-competitive conduct. It is your obligation to ensure that you do not engage in any other contacts outside of the formal meetings that could create issues.

While most of the functions and activities of trade associations do not raise competition law issues, bringing competitors together may allow trade associations to be used, directly or indirectly, to facilitate illegal agreements to restrain competition. In view of the potential risks involved, you must not become involved in any communications or agreements that might give rise to concerns under the Competition Act, the Canadian Produce Marketing Association (CPMA) Competition Guidelines governing meetings while you are attending or participating in any CPMA meetings.

Confidentiality of personal contact information
As we approach CPMA’s 95th Convention and Trade Show, Fresh Week, many fresh produce industry members may receive fraudulent emails from scammers who may claim to have personal contact information of CPMA members, Trade Show attendees and exhibitors. Please be advised that CPMA is committed to protecting personal information of all those it collaborates with and does not sell, communicate or disclose their contact information to third parties nor any mailing lists. Please disregard any email that look suspicious.
